As mentioned in our November 2025 recap, our focus currently lies on building & optimizing the core systems that form the foundation for PaintSquad and other experiences. Most of our time this month has gone into improving internal systems, cleaning things up behind the scenes, as well as making sure everything is built in a way that allows us to easily add new features in the future.
However, since these developments are technical, there isn’t much visual progress to show at the moment. As such, we’ve decided to skip publishing a dedicated Monthly Recap post for this month.
2025 has been a very eventful year for Xenyria. At the beginning of the year, we opened PaintSquad to players for the first time in years with a playtest event. Despite the game's limited content and features available at the time, the playtest was a huge milestone for us. We collected lots of valuable feedback and also set a new concurrent player record.
Since then, a lot of time has gone into improving the technical structure behind the game. We spent much of the year rebuilding and restructuring systems that are integral to the game, ensuring that everything is more reliable, flexible and ready to support our future plans for PaintSquad.
While we weren’t able to release as much new content as we originally had hoped, the work completed this year has laid the groundwork for everything that will follow next.
As mentioned in our November 2025 recap, our focus will remain on PaintSquad for the forseeable future. One of our main goals for the coming year is to host more playtests and, eventually, transition PaintSquad into early access. There is still plenty of work ahead of us, but we’re committed to making PaintSquad the very best it can be. Rest assured that we have a lot planned and 2026 will be a big year for PaintSquad.
Lastly, we also want to thank all of you for your continued support and patience. Whether you participated in the playtest, shared feedback or simply just stuck around in the community while development happened behind the scenes, it truly means a lot to us.
From everyone on our team, we wish you a wonderful festive season and a happy New Year. Merry Christmas to those who celebrate. We'll be back with more news in January.
